This is very early Benny from 1931, and it’s a totally different sound from the one we’re used to hearing from 1938 – it isn’t Swing yet. For one thing, this is an upbeat take on the song. For another, Benny has a string section backing him.

Indeed you do.

I love the minor-major shifty thing.

I especially like it in two of Irving Berlin’s songs; “Let’s Face The Music” and “Blue Skies”.
