The Department of Justice has launched an investigation into the FBI’s handling of sexual-abuse allegations against former U.S. gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, people familiar with the investigation said.
That move followed allegations that agents failed to act on U.S. national-team gymnasts’ complaints about Nassar when they arose in 2015.

Since when is a sexual abuse case a violation of the US Code. It is a State and local violation of law. At least that’s what it was in my day!
What interstate? Elaborate with specific details and times and places understanding the slander laws.
The FBI would never investigate Nifong’s attempt at railroading innocent Duke lacrosse players; but if any single aspect of the players’ identity had been changed — gender, ethnicity, color, etc. — they would have been there in a heartbeat.

Really?
First, among Nasser’s crimes were federal child porn charges. Second, although child sex abuse is usually prosecuted at state and local levels, federal code lays out exceptions having to do with a federal nexus. I wonder whether the fact that Nasser was related to the USOC.
The article says that complaints were initially called into the FBI, but were not investigated for a number of months, which was considered problematic.
As well, perhaps there is a protocol for bringing in state and local authorities, which didn’t happen.

If you have some evidence that there was no interstate transportation of those children, please show us.
The evidence is clear. The children went to camp and to olympic events outside of their states.

Did the FIB have him on a Watch List?
Why didn’t they send in the HRT?
They are investigating the investigations of the already investigated.
