Kim Kardashian West made her second Oval Office visit to speak with President Trump on behalf of a prison inmate Wednesday, joined by former U.S. District Judge Kevin Sharp, who personally asked Trump to reverse a life sentence he issued.

Kardashian West and Sharp were accompanied by #cut50 co-founder and Democratic pundit Van Jones for a discussion that lasted about 20-30 minutes, Sharp told the Washington Examiner.

Trump asked about Chris Young, 30, who was arrested at 22 and received a life sentence for dealing drugs, but also brought up Matthew Charles, who returned to prison this year after a court found his previous drug sentence reduction was in error, Sharp said.

From the article:
“Many attendees said, however, they did not receive the impression that the White House already has an operational in-house process.”

There ya go, haters have to hate. President Trump is doing more for justice and prison reform than the last 4 presidents combined but it just isn’t enough. As for process, if President Trump is flipping a coin as his process, I thinks that’s an improvement on the previous four guys in his place. Anyhooo

Judge was an Obama appointee who served less than 6 years before quitting his lifetime job. I guess he accomplished all he needed to.

If Van Jones was there then Trump must KNOW that what they are pushing is a very bad idea.

Nothing wrong with Trump speaking to them. It undercuts the Left and their supporters will realize that Trump isn't the boogeyman that the media portrays him as.

Is he going to implement it, is the real question.

I haven’t kept up with this aspect of law, but I’m wondering if the people Kardashian is championing are victims of CLINTON’s ‘three strikes’ law...

Jones periodically wanders off the PC plantation. Exposing him to DJT cannot but be useful.

what not everyone realizes (and some prefer not to acknowledge it) is that there are lot of bad prosecutions, bad decisions, and mistakes made in our justice system.

I’m all for reviews of what’s been done...
it could help drain the swamp...
enhance or restore public respect for the law,
and make us all safer (we are not only in danger from Muslim terrorists and “normal” criminals, we are also in danger from governmental over-reach and, not infrequently, misconduct...)

I’m not sure either but President Trump is open to listening for non political purposes. Something Obama never did in my opinion.

The Judge should resign in repayment.

I agree. Nothing wrong with Trump meeting with them. Just that he should know who they are and do due diligence to make sure he is not being played. If it was me I would meet with them too, but I would never do anything Van Jones was pushing. I would not even take valuable time to research it.

Obama was a political hack and never did anything unless it served his or his handlers’ ideological purposes.

Well perp is pretty lucky. My opinion is drug dealers should be put to death. Drug USERS should be gotten into treatment.

I think that would end the drug problem quickly.

But then again, who knows.

Did you miss where Trump already pardoned one woman she brought to his attention? If she’s found something more worthwhile to do with her time good for her.

According to post #3 the judge already has resigned. He probably had no choice under the WOD’s mandatory sentencing rules. Maybe that’s why he quit?

Now that you mention it, yes I do recall something along those lines.

This woman hasn’t got the sense God gave goldfish.
