The death of The Cranberries lead singer Dolores ORiordan has been ruled a drowning due to alcohol intoxication by British authorities, an inquest at Westminster Coroners Court reportedly revealed on Thursday.
ORiordan was found dead on Jan. 15 in her hotel room at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
According to the BBC, coroner Dr. Shirley Radcliffe said that ORiordan was submerged in the bath at the time she was discovered in what was a tragic accident. There were no signs of injury or self-harm found during the post-mortem examination, the outlet reported.
Authorities discovered a bottle of champagne and five miniature bottles on the scene, in addition to containers of prescription drugs with a quantity of tablets in each container, the BBC reported.
Toxicology tests showed that ORiordans blood contained therapeutic amounts of medication but 330mg of alcohol per 100mls of blood, the BBC reported. Thats four times over the 80mg legal limit for driving, according to the outlet.

That's probably a good thing.I worked in a big city ER for years and can even remember how many folks with an ethanol level that high that we sent to "Ward X".
I'm assuming you don't need an explanation of what "Ward X" was.
can even remember = can’t even remember
There have been legitimate, serious research studies done on alcoholism in recent years. One showed that people of *northern* European blood...specifically the Irish,Scots,Scandinavians and Russians...have a significantly higher incidence of alcoholism than just about any other region.
There have also been studies that strongly suggest that genes, not "upbringing",are the main culprit in alcoholism.
What else is there to do in winter when it's cold and dark all day?
Very sad indeed.
Would have like to have her Linger around a bit more down here.

I certainly believe that-—my family history is rampant with alcoholism.
Many eventually got sober, but a couple never did.

Don’t drink and bathe
LOL you were in another dimension. The Bavarian twilight zone.
LOL! Was the same skit where Sinead O’Connor and Luther Campbell were on?
The one where Phil Hartman was calling her Sine-Aid and Sinbad?
She turned into a Zombie.
Or bathe in just 5 inches of hot water and splash around soap up, wash off and get clean. I have done this when hot water was very limited. No big deal if you have an IQ.
But like above poster said, she pulled a Jim Morrison but far past age 27.
“Let me tell you something. We need a two and a half hour movie about the Doors? Folks, no we don’t. I can sum it up for you in five seconds, ok. I’m drunk. I’m nobody. I’m drunk. I’m famous. I’m drunk. I’m ........ dead. There’s the whole movie, ok!? ‘Big Fat Dead Guy in a Bath Tub’, there’s your title for you.”
