We look after friends
There is a new nation along the Euphrates and Kurds are a major part of that budding nation.
The current battles are about establishing a western boundry for that new nation
Then the Kurds are fools if they think the US will go to the mat for them. We have interests in the Middle East, but they don’t necessarily involve a free Kurdistan. Incidentally, I think the Kurds are shrewd and will only push their position just so far because they realize this.
