Kids don’t want to go outside. They’re duct-taped to their computers and hand-held devices cruising the Interwebz.
“Mom and Dad...take away their electronic toys and send’em to the playground.”
And if history is any guide, mom and dad will receive a visit from Child Protective Services toute suite.
There are parents reported to police for letting 8 year olds walk a dog around the block or permitting 7-10 year olds to go to a nearby park to play.
Helicopter parents are not necessarily creating the lazy kids - the parents have to “hover” or else risk calls to CPS.
This is probably contributing to people choosing to have just one kid, too - that’s what they can reasonably supervise to the level society mandates.
