Bono Gives Nazi Salute While Mocking Swedish Populists at Paris Show

11 Sep 20188,697 Irish rock star Bono gave a Nazi salute during a show in Paris, while mocking the success of the Swedish populist party, Sweden Democrats, in Sunday’s general election. Performing as his dark “alter-ego” Mr. MacPhisto in Paris on Sunday, the 58-year-old rocker gave the Nazi salute twice before shouting “Åkesson!” a reference to the Sweden Democrats charismatic leader Jimmie Åkesson. “He’s done so well in the election today… It appears the Swedes are beginning to discover their Aryan potential,” Bono said. “I love elections. I love balloons. I love… parties that get out of hand.” Bono made the comments following the success of the Sweden Democrats in Sunday’s general election, where the populist nationalist party won 18 percent of the vote, which resulted in none of the traditional parties won an overall majority. The Sweden Democrat’s press secretary, Henrik Gustafsson, said he was not surprised by the attack. “When Swedish celebrities obviously do not have a reality-based view of us and our party, it’s no wonder to me that the situation is even worse for a person like Bono,” he said in a statement. It is not the first time that Bono has expressed his political views publicly, having recently become a prominent critic of President Donald Trump and advocate for Britain remaining in the European Union against the country’s democratic wishes. Last December Bono called President Trump a “post-truth president leading a post-trust country.” “We are actually going back to the way we used to be,” he said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “The new normal is the old normal. That is terrifying. The demonizing of ‘the other’ has returned.”

Video at link. Another overrated hasbeen seeking relevance. This was the same Bono who, during the conflicts in N. Ireland opened a recording studio in Belfast to show solidarity with the locals under the yoke of oppression by the Brits. A year later he quietly closed up the studio and relocated it in Brussels to take advantage of a big tax break. Hey, pretending to save the world and putting on airs about be down for the struggle is one thing, but business is business.

30+ years since a good album

But I guess I’ve never made one, I guess I can’t mock people on stage

So I guess this means he’s a fan of rapes and acid attacks.

Bono doesn’t risk ever getting roughed up, spit on, or robbed by migrant youth on Stockholm public transport, either. Unlike many Swedes, Bono is wealthy enough to never have to rub shoulders with those who don’t share his values. His perspective is badly tainted.

If anyone must be run down by Islamic terrorists on Westminster Bridge in London, why can’t it be annoying, brain dead dhimmis like Bono?

What’s the difference between Bono and God?

God doesn’t walk around Dublin thinking that he is Bono...

I have a blue ray of their Rose bowl show. I’m not a big fan of the band, but they have three songs I like, and the video is absolute eye candy. They get political and I just scan past those songs. I’ve never seen them.

"The demonization of 'the other' has returned."

He's right. Christians and conservatives are being demonized. They are "deplorables" clinging to their guns and their religion.

Bono’s house in Dublin is surrounded by an eight-foot stone wall with an iron gate.

I saw a U2 concert last summer. Bono started off by saying that we are in a time when there are strong passions on both sides of the political aisle and this was a night to come together without politics getting between us. Cool. By the end he was trashing Trump, running videos of super liberals doing super liberal things, etc. Hypocrite.

I only liked three of U2’s albums ... Achtung Baby, Zooropa, and Pop ... their early stuff is certainly good, but not for me. Everything after Pop sounds like a bunch of outtakes from their early stuff :-).

Anyway, remember when U2 decided to move their “business” from Ireland to the Netherlands to avoid paying taxes on royalties? All of that tax money could have helped those less fortunate ones you know ... these idiots are so full of feces ...

Isn’t stuttering finger-painter George Bush Junior a buddy of Bono’s?

"...The demonizing of ‘the other’ has returned.”

Says Bono as he mocks right-of-center voters with a Nazi salute.
