THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK

HARRY WARREN

42ND STREET: “YOU’RE GETTING TO BE A HABIT WITH ME”

This is Bing not quite settling into the role of Der Bingle, America’s favorite baritone crooner. Having left his hard drinking, brawling days behind him in Paul Whiteman’s band, he signed up with Guy Lombardo. This is from 1933. Note that he’s a borderline tenor at this point.

Hi there, Publius...thank you for more tunes by Harry Warren from the Great American Songbook. Thanks so much for the informational tidbits of each one. Too cool hearing so many versions of the same song. ((HUGS))
