Seeing how people have been manipulated and destroyed by the current system...I get how people might turn to other avenues.
As a technologist one can see how some people might be inclined to invest in robotics that has almost zero downstream risk.

Here's where the robot-makers miss the boat. They design robots with artificial intelligence to replace WOMEN. What they wind up with a mix between Alexa and Wikipedia. To be life-like and realistic, they need to design robots with artificial illogic! Ones that will take whatever you say the wrong way, get all emotional for seemingly no reason whatsoever and accuse you of being wrong on everything. Then it will seem like you have a REALISTIC female sex robot.
