In two years we could be seeing the final stages of the Impeachment trial for President Pence.
I have seen the “outline” floated on the blue blogosphere. Trump in 19, Pence by the end of 20.
The only way we get any USSC picks through is a solid majority in both Houses of Congress.
Utter silliness. There will be no impeachment. Even if Ds take the House, doubtful if they can pass any articles, impossible for them to get the Senate to go along.
No, only need 50 votes for USSC (Pence breaks the tie, even in judicial issues).
That’s a complete load of BS.
Even in the craziest possible scenario, that won’t happen.
Assume that the Democrats win both the House and the Senate. In fact, lets go crazy and assume that the Democrats win every single Senate race.
That would leave them with a 58 - 42 majority in the Senate.
In order to remove an impeached President from office, you need to have 67 votes in the Senate. So even if the Democrats win every single race, they are still 9 votes short of being able to remove Trump.
It is silly fantasy to imagine that is ever going to happen.
