She won't testify and she won't submit anything in writing either!

This was just a scam to blacken B.K.'s name/life forever, by a stupid, arrogant, faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar lefty nutter, who imagined that she could "bring him down" with an anonymous accusation.

if she doesn’t accept their invitations, and the Judge has, let him defend himself. in public. on television. she would have had her chance.

You're welcome.

And yes, she is.

She cried "FIRE" and there was not even the blaze of a match. And now, she doesn't want to be held accountable for striking the match.

“Investigate” what?

Andrew McCarthy offers a cogent assessment of the current political situation in the Kavanaugh nomination/conformation process.

I’m not encouraged by the fact that we have chinless Mitch McConnell as the Republican Senate Majority Leader. He is hardly a dependable fighter for anything President Trump is behind.

The last-minute accusation, initially anonymous then, when that wasn’t taken seriously, the accuser coming forward with her story of a sexual assault by a teenage Kavanaugh is obviously a well-planned political dirty trick by the left. Ford is murky on details but as always, for Democrats, it’s the accusation that matters, not evidence and certainly not the damage to a decent man who well deserves to be confirmed by the senate as a Supreme Court Justice.

Fortunately, Trump remains strong in his support of Brett Kavanaugh. Unfortunately, the president does not have a lot of leverage to get his nominee confirmed.

“Neoconservatism in less than 20 words.”

Excellent observation.

The SAD thing is Trump SHOULD HAVE all the leverage he needs to get this man on the bench, our Senators are spineless wonders when it comes to the media!!! They are BLIND not to see the support Trump has at their own peril I PRAY!!!

Paragraph 6, sentence 1: ". . . decent progressives . . ."

Stopped reading right there. Decent progressives is an oxymoron.

That was a pleasant song but we can’t really claim anything good out of it applies to today, in my opinion. “For What It’s Worth” was composed by Stephen Stills when songs were needed by the group Buffalo Springfield of which he was a member in 1966. He told them “I finished a song, for what it’s worth.” They used that for the title.

It was about the Sunset Strip Riots in which (don’t laugh) short-haired, clean, decent young people wanted to hear loud popular music in places along Sunset Strip and would gather outside trying to get in. Beach Boys,Johnny Rivers,et al were popular then. Cops were called, then people were prodded but went into the streets and refused to leave and finally were pushed and tear gassed by police.
This was just before the hippie era blossomed in earnest. Photos show kids with sport shirts, nice pants and short hair. San Francisco was starting to look like the Grateful Dead wannabes but LA was slightly behind.

Book Riot On Sunset Strip by Dominic Priore is about this. Also Laurel Canyon by Michael Walker covers it in context.

Problem: today’s young people are socialists and crybaby liberals who want to destroy society to replace it with their version from Karl Marx. Rappers, BLM, vicious Antifa thugs and black rioters are today’s version of the clean cut kids who dared to want to hear music in clubs.

The old saying “you never had it so good” applies to the Americans of 1966.

Yes, I’ve heard that the Byrds early gigs on Sunset Strip were considered to be the beginning of the hippie movement. I’ve also read they were a lousy live band. McGuinn was the only guy who played an instrument on the records.

I lived through the era and also reviewed and wrote for a rock magazine then.
You’re right the first and excellent Byrd album featured Leon Russell and other studio musicians because Columbia executives were worried the Byrds were a garage band of buddies. They were totally wrong (David Crosby himself was an excellent musician and) others were professional quality, too.

Two books on the Byrds: Turn, Turn,Turn and Eight Miles High both by Richie Unterberger are goods ones. Also one by
Johnny Rogan called Timeless Flight and that title Revisited are long but good. Four books on the group. Plus ones on individual members, too. Incredible, isn’t it?

And FWIW(SHWTS) has IMO one of the coolest fadeouts.

But were those kids *really* singing songs and carrying signs saying "Hooray for our side"?

Younger than yesterday, notorious Byrd brothers, and sweetheart of the rodeo are. my favorites. Though I’ve never investigated any of the later stuff. I was a little kid growing up in Miami when Crosby discovered Joni Mitchell at an artsy coffeehouse called the Flick in Coconut Grove that my very straight-laced, but cultured parents used to go to.

“Ban the Billy Club” and “Rights For Youth Too” were on two of the crudely hand written signs in photos.
No audio except on the DVD “Legends of the Canyon” by Henry Diltz and I don’t recall any songs were recognizable.

Imagine today: Soros corporation sign company would have had neatly lettered vinyl signs with camera friendly actors carrying them.

On Joni Mitchell. She was from Ontario across the river from Detroit and my weekly hangout the Chessmate Coffee House (no liquor allowed—good because I was a teenager).

She was so unknown that when the Paul Butterfield Blues Band (with Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop) or Jesse Fuller, Tom Rush or Phil Ochs couldn’t be there the cover charge went down to $1 for Mitchell.

She composed Big Yellow Taxi and other songs in the little room by the kitchen waiting to go onstage at that coffee house.

P.S. I urge you to get the first 3 Byrds albums. Influential in rock history.

Gawd I'm really getting to hate this woman. She's a great advertisement for term limits.

It was just announced that Ford has refused to testify unless the FBI does a thorough investigation of her "claim"!

Investigate her claim? When she cant remember where or when it supposedly happened? Are they just going to canvas all of Montgomery County? So she will not be testifying.

This is outside of the FBI's purview and I bet the dyke lawyer knows it!

It's a way out; that's all.

Even the local police wouldn't touch this with a barge pole!

There's just no there there and her story today, doesn't jibe with the 2012 therapist's notes. Not to mention the fact that, as you said, there's NOTHING to go on!

There is a murmur that they dug up some girl to say that she was at the party and trash Brett & Judge...maybe, perhaps, could be.

I was a huge Joni Mitchell fan after a girl I had a crush on turned me on to Hejira. I went out and bought all her albums. When I was younger and much more liberal, the self-centeredness, conceit, and condescension inherent in her lyrics didn’t bother me. Now I find her music to be unlistenable because of it, as enormously gifted as she is.
