When I was in Europe in the mid 80’s those arrogant Frenchies were not members. They participated with us, but went by their own rules. (I had minor exposure to them in Landstuhl.) When I left in the 90’s they were not members. I was in when De Gaul decided to get out of it, I was not in when they returned. I attended staff meetings with the Dutch, Belgians, and Germans mostly. Never had anyone representing France at the meetings.
