In this extremely disturbing video out of Abilene, Texas, a heated dispute over the disposal of a mattress leads to gunfire. The shooters, Johnnie and Michael Miller, have both been charged with the first-degree murder of the third man in the video, Aaron Howard. Howard apparently had a baseball bat (not obvious in the video) but was otherwise unarmed.
The person recording the video is Howard’s fiance, Kara Box. Threats were exchanged on both sides before John Miller fired his handgun. His son then followed up with a shotgun blast.
When District Attorney Jim Hicks saw the footage, he said: “Video evidence like this is always graphic and very difficult to watch. But, it is consistent with the charges.”
Both Miller men are currently out of jail on a $25,000 bond.
“You [the Millers] deserve to spend your lives in prison,” said Ms. Box. By the looks of it, there’s a good chance of that.
The Millers both had weapons, but were otherwise unarmed.
Translation: English to English for folks who need it, like this writer.
He was packing a deadly weapon, but was not prepared to kill with a second instrument.
How did they shoot the guy, with their feet?
English is a second language with journalists these days.
All this because their new neighbor dumped an old mattress in a community junkpile? Crazy. There is no explanation, other than the old man has a screw loose, and 31 y/o “Junior” was not able to think for himself. This is probably going to be called Capitol Murder.
If your watch the video, the father had a handgun and the son a shotgun. The guy with a bat was threatening to kill both of them. From what I heard, the son had left and came back with the dun, so that is intent right there. He was the one that killed the guy. I don’t know what was the final straw that made him pull the trigger since the camera was just on the kid with the shotgun, but both sides are pretty pathetic. White trash Not OKAY Corral!

I didn’t watch it, but you confirmed my expectation.
One thing people need to keep in mind. It’s okay to defend yourself, but you should be damned sure what you’re killing a guy over is worth it.

The victim was a totally aggressive moron who brought it all on himself ; begging them shoot and advancing to close quarters even when repeatedly warned not to advance . The guy and his son did the human race’s gene pool a favor . I hope they are 100% acquitted .
