Even before President Trump’s election, hatred had begun to emerge on the American left—counterintuitively, as an assertion of guilelessness and moral superiority. At the Women’s March in Washington the weekend after Mr. Trump’s inauguration, the pop star Madonna said, “I have thought an awful lot of blowing up the White House.” Here hatred was a vanity, a braggadocio meant to signal her innocence of the sort of evil that, in her mind, the White House represented. (She later said the comment was “taken wildly out of context.”)
For many on the left a hateful anti-Americanism has become a self-congratulatory lifestyle. “America was never that great,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently said. For radical groups like Black Lives Matter, hatred of America is a theme of identity, a display of racial pride.
For other leftists, hate is a license. Conservative speakers can be shouted down, even assaulted, on university campuses. Republican officials can be harassed in restaurants, in the street, in front of their homes. Certain leaders of the left—Rep. Maxine Waters comes to mind—are self-appointed practitioners of hate, urging their followers to think of hatred as power itself.
How did the American left—conceived to bring more compassion and justice to the world—become so given to hate? It began in the 1960s, when America finally accepted that slavery and segregation were profound moral failings. That acceptance changed America forever. It imposed a new moral imperative: America would have to show itself redeemed of these immoralities in order to stand as a legitimate democracy.

It is actually funny. Have you ever confronted them about their hate? I was told that their hate is justified because they are confronting “bigotry, racism, homophobia,” etc., and every other ism and phobia that one can think of...
They can not see themselves as being hate filled. Sad to have so little self-awareness.

They give me a headache which is one of the reasons that I stopped watching “fair and balanced” news. I would have to mute the other side so often, either that or overdose on aspirin. LOL

It began much earlier than that. In fact it is an innate trait of the left caused by its delusional world view.
They’re not at all happy with all the inequalities and” unfairness” that exist in the real world, and so they’re constantly attempting to change reality to be more to their liking. Unfortunately for them nature is not all that malleable and their persistent failures anger them to no end... But they never give up.
I really think it’s a genetic disposition. So lucky us, they’ll be with us forever.

They never give us any credit for being intelligent beings who disagree with them. They believe that we disagree with them because we are inferior.
One of the reasons every Republican president is labelled as an idiot, a chimp, stupid, unintelligent, crass, crude etc. while every Dem is super intelligent and so far above us they we can’t understand them. We are easy to hate because we are so far beneath them.

Never underestimate the “absolute” stupidity of the American Voter.
Many people today are “fat, dumb, and happy”: their 401K’s are up, their paychecks are up, and yet they have no clue why since the so-called “News” tells them otherwise ... and all they hear is “Trump is a Nazi” so that is what they believe.
Universal, unlimited Free Parking will set them free....
Note that the CPUSA supported H->! in 2016 and did not run their own candidate....
People who are self-righteous, consider themselves superior to others and need to be in control of other people’s lives become leftists, personality is politics......
It may be not so much that liberals hate as that hateful people choose liberalism as their political position. Liberalism appeals to them because it entails so much hatred for the country, its culture, and anyone happier than they are.
I suspect most leftists actually have crushing inferiority complexes. Their ideology is only “mainstream” because they convince enough semi-literate urban dwellers to vote for them (remember how they mock education levels in flyover country, while begging for votes where Spanish & ebonics are spoken?); why do you think they want voting rights restored for felons? They appeal to damaged people, assuring them they no longer have to “try” (I’m no saint, but aspire to be better rather than excuse my shortcomings). They can’t convince “normals” that they have any real answers, and those “normals” demonstrate the higher standards to which people should hold themselves.
Of course you are right which is why they are in favor of massive third world immigration coming to this country. The more illiterate the person the more likely they will vote for “Santa Claus.”
I think they are missing a huge point though. This Cortez woman running for a long held dem congressional seat from NY is just the beginning. Immigrants vote overwhelmingly for people who look like them. White leftists are being run out of the party, just not fast enough.
I also fear that we are being marginalized by the media, academia, the courts and our own government. We have a big choice to make: do we allow ourselves to be second class citizens or do we not?
