"Now we have this:
Michael Avenatti
@MichaelAvenatti
I represent a woman with credible information regarding Judge Kavanaugh and Mark Judge. We will be demanding the opportunity to present testimony to the committee and will likewise be demanding that Judge and others be subpoenaed to testify. The nomination must be withdrawn."
That's the other problem that the delay was for: the storm of accusations to come. Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee knew it good and well from the Anita Hill show and many other debacles.

the storm of accusations to come Sure, there will be plenty. But the whole senate hasn't voted and there is time to muddy the nominee before then even the committee had voted last week. To repeat, this a no-win situation, either it's a rush job ignoring an accuser, or it's a needless delay allowing more shenanigans. Either way it is designed to rev up the blue vote, nothing more than that.

The GOP should have put a tourniquet on this long ago and rolled the dice on a failure. Now we’re looking at a bleed-out and death of a nomination. Makes me wonder if they aren’t in on the scam that’s being played out. They seem disinterested in winning the mid-terms, so why not throw the SCOTUS nomination too? Remember folks, these jackasses have been fighting MAGA since the beginning, they’re not likely to change their attitudes after a year-and-a-half.
