Perhaps the original purpose was that but it failed miserably. Women aren’t that stupid. They know a lying witch when they see one.

Hardly any different than without this boondoggle. But had Grassley ignored her and done the vote last week, there would be nonstop "news" stories and attack ads about that from now until election day. It's a no-win situation and delaying the vote a little doesn't make a lot of difference in the long run.
