So what I keep hearing from Dick Durbin and other Democrats is why would Ford risk so much to make these accusations.
The answer, I believe, is two-fold.
First, I believe Ford is a bit unstable and has some hazy, fuzzy recollection of something in her teen years. Ford hit the lottery in that this party girl was at the time living in a zip code somewhere near Kavaunagh.
Ford’s vague recollection, coupled with her now hardcore activism, is being married so she can self construct herself as a brave leftist warrior who will be the one to deny the wicked anti-abortionists a seat on the Supreme Court.
Second, I have no doubt in my mind that Ford has been promised rich financial rewards for her “brave” activism. I would be willing to bet she will get a book deal with a huge advance that is well beyond what would be considered reasonable. She may get plum speaking fees around the country. And, she may likely get hooked up with some really lucrative teaching job in academia as a pay off.
I am quite sure Ford has been promised that she will forever be taken care of financially for the rest of her life. That’s how sordid this all is.
It is not their job to determine Ford's thinking. It is just their job to determine the truth.
