If Rosenstein resigns, it's because he tried to get himself fired with the NYT article on Friday and Trump didn't take the bait. He wants it timed to energize the libs in the election. That means early October so the fake news can build it into a crescendo by the end of October.

I bet not :-) Smarter move not to fire him. Wait for the resignation and/or trial to take Rosenstein and the bigger fish above him down. But what are we but armchair quarterbacks? The whole purpose of the NYT story re Rosey and the wire was to see if they could tempt Trump into firing Rosey. However, Trump appears to not be taking the bait, so Rosey is in full drama mode to get the media attention, and keep the press on the story.
They really want to bait Trump into firing Rosey, in order for them to launch their next giant smear re Trump “obstructing justice”.
