The point may be overblown here.
I believe the majority and minority groups on the Senate Judiciary Committee each have their own committee budgets for this sort of thing.

The Democrats are looking for a sexual encounter that was totally inappropriate - not unlike what they themselves are very capable of doing and have demonstrated many times in the past. Maybe not everybody thinks like they do and quite possibly most people never get into sordid sexual entanglements throughout their entire lives.
But that thought probably never entered their pointy little heads.
