The Democratic lead over Republicans has narrowed on this week's Rasmussen Reports Generic Congressional Ballot.

The latest telephone and online survey finds that 46% of Likely U.S. Voters would choose the Democratic candidate if the elections for Congress were held today. Forty-three percent (43%) would opt for the Republican. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and eight percent (8%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

So why do so many other polls show a wide, if not widening, gap in favor of the Democrats? Because it is still EARLY in the election cycle. Same pattern happened in 2016.

We can expect to see even the Dem lead in the polls by the liberal polling firms to start dramatically narrowing by October 26. Why? Because that is the day the 3rd quarter GDP is released showing great progress in the Trump economy thanks in large part due to the tax cut bill passed by Republicans with NO Democrat votes. Also that day will mark just 11 days before the midterm elections when even the liberal polling firms have to show numbers more closely reflecting reality due to the need to maintain their future credibility. Now they can say what they need to in order to suppress Republican votes.

I'm sure glad I bought my PredictIt shares of "YES" on Dems winning 217 or fewer at a rock bottom price due to idiot liberals believing the polls playing in to their fantasies.

If their polling lead is only 3% it means the R’s are gonna win them all. :)

Steve Schmidt says that a Blue tsunami is coming. He should know because he’s in the process of transitioning into a soccer mom.

The only polls that can be trusted are the ones that can be verified. That means the ones in the last week are the only ones you can trust at all if the pollsters want to preserve their reputation.

Of course, the left is going scorched earth for this one, so all bets may be off regarding the accuracy of the polls at all.

I watched his glum, ugly face on Election Night; wrong then, wrong now. Even McCain wouldn’t invite this slob to any part of his multi-day funeral.

this is such BS. One day it’s -12 then now it’s -3, then it’s even.

THis is all crapola.....

Comes down to desire to vote, and I’m like a thorough bred waiting for the gate to open.

Democratic voters tend to live in more concentrated areas and the party would typically needs a more significant advantage in the generic ballot number than do Republicans, whose voters are spread through more exurban and rural districts.

Democrats need a higher share of the midterm vote to win a majority of seats, in other words, than do Republicans.

In 2014, when Democrats led the generic ballot in both CNN and NBC/WSJ surveys by only slim margins, Republicans ended up winning 13 Democratic-held seats.

The last time Democrats gained significantly, in 2006, the party held a 15-point advantage in both surveys.

By contrast, Republicans enjoyed a generic ballot advantage of between two and six points in late October 2010, according to CNN and NBC/Wall Street Journal polls, but that narrow edge still resulted in the 63-seat gain..

The assault on Kavanaugh is helping! The American people know what is happening to him is grossly unfair

“So why do so many other polls show a wide, if not widening, gap in favor of the Democrats?”

Oversampling D’s is my guess plus polling registered voters instead of likely voters. Look for these polls to tighten and be more in line with the credible polls as we get closer to the election.

In this day and age, you might as well not pay attention to the polls.

Guys like Stirewalt and Schmidt from the “NeverYou” movement predict doom and gloom each and every cycle because they either hate Trump or want to appease their overlords at their lefty networks. It went so far yesterday with the giggling fool Stirewalt saying that, and I am paraphrasing:

“the reason the GOP’s favorability is soaring is because they are in such huge trouble.”

That is astounding logic right there.

I see nothing that points to a blue anything or a red anything. I do think, however, that the dems treatment of Kavanaugh may well have lit a motivational fire under the GOP base. These leftist goon Senators pronouncing that guilt must be disproven or that “it is the GOP who has made a mess of the confirmation process” is just maddening and frightening. To quote NRO, we are living 1984.

Sounds like the Dems badly overplayed on Kavanaugh and now guys are thinking “It.Could.Be.Me” regarding unsubstantiated allegations.
