Real Madrid, a Spanish soccer club, on Friday hosted teen terrorist Ahed Tamimi.

Tamimi served an eight-month prison sentence for attacking IDF soldiers, and has since said that her goal is to "eliminate Israel."

Tamimi met with Emilio Butragueño, a former Real Madrid player.

She also received a soccer shirt sporting her name and the number 9.

Real Madrid welcomed Palestinian teenage activist Ahed Tamimi to the Santiago Bernabeu yesterday after spending eight months in prison for slapping an Israeli soldier in December 2017," the team tweeted Saturday.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon tweeted, "The prestigious soccer club of Real Madrid embraces a terrorist inciting to hatred and violence. Shameful."

Don’t be too harsh on the Spanish. I think Pompeo should call in the Spanish ambassador and set up a summit with their Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. At this meeting Trump would say “Yeah, that whole Spanish-American War thing? Terrible misunderstanding, sorry about that. We can’t give you back the Phillipines, they’re a sovereign nation, but hey! Here’s Puerto Rico back! All yours again!”

The issues here are economic to a large extent. Football/soccer is very, very big business, and the rich petroleum-based economies of the Middle East have major investments in football/soccer teams - owning several. This includes major money invested in Real Madrid. I don’t know the details, but the Christian cross that had been part of the Real Madrid crest was apparently removed on this basis:

Football/soccer teams used to be entirely ‘club teams’, owned by private investors and fans. Now several are owned by countries. Paris St. Germaine (PSG) is one of them, owned essentially by Qatar. They paid a transfer fee of ~$250,000,000 for one player in 2016, totally changing the financial structure of world football/soccer.

Unfortunately most European countries have bought the “Palestinians are innocent victims” narrative, especially the left leaning ones. Israel gets blamed for everything, news coverage is lop-sided and sometimes completely inaccurate. I think it’s a sign of the times.

I’ve been reading Zechariah 12 to 14 recently. It says at the end the whole world will be against Israel and Jerusalem will eventually fall, but then God (Jesus) lands on the Mount of Olives, the mountain splits, and He wages war on the nations who have attacked Israel and ushers in His reign over the nations.

Stupid gas. That’s what they were missing in 1492. They could have held on to Granada and expanded, if only it hadn’t been for a stupid gas shortage. With stupid gas, they could have called Queen Izabella and King Ferdinand Islamophobes, and they would have immediately back-tracked and taken down their stonework encampment called San Francisco, backed up and gone back to Castille, or Aragon, or wherever, and saved the name for a city with lots of crazy people in the New World, right after Captain Colon discovered it with their help.
