You’re misstating - he was questioned about it under oath last week. Then, at the hearing, he was asked if DiChi or her staff asked questions - they didn’t / hadn’t until he was at the hearing on Thursday.

Because the “accusation” is that he claimed that he “read it in the NYer” but was texting people before hand.
But he obviously knwe about the story before that because he was published in the story denying it.
