If getting more women on boards would make the companies more successful, wouldn’t they already be doing that? Wouldn’t they be actively recruiting women without a law, if a key to success is women’s involvement?
Is this law a solution in search of a problem?
It’s the same argument that women are paid less than men for the same work. If that were true, why would a company hire ANY men?
Sounds like Amazon should lead the way with an all female board and all-female work force. Hire nothing but Amazons, their namesake. In Greek mythology, the Amazons were a tribe of women warriors related to Scythians and Sarmatians. They were brutal and aggressive, and their main concern in life was war. Just the workforce and board members you want.
Maybe businessmen don't want to be successful... or maybe they're simply not as smart at Jackson... or maybe they're sexist...
