Maine senator Susan Collins, a moderate Republican who’s often a swing vote on issues, paved the way for the nominee to the Supreme Court. Sources told Fox News that the confirmation vote of Kavavanaugh is expected to begin between 3:30pm and 4pm Eastern Time. The whole procedure will take up to 20 minutes.
In a fiery and lengthy speech on Friday, Collins explained her decision to support the Kavanaugh’s nomination, slamming the confirmation process that resembled a “caricature of a gutter-level political campaign” and said anti-Kavanaugh outside groups distorted the judge’s record with “over-the-top rhetoric.”
But in the wake of the unsuccessful bid to stop Kavanaugh’s confirmation, the activists both on Capitol Hill and on social media began lashing out against Collins and her colleagues.
“Senator Susan Collins is the mother & grandmother of white women in America who gave us a Donald Trump presidency. The 53%,” tweeted Linda Sarsour, a far-left activist and a leader of the Women’s March that branded Collins a “rape apologist” after the speech.
“She is a disgrace & her legacy will be that she was a traitor to women and marginalized communities. History will not treat her kindly.”
“A white woman Senator is talking about presumption of innocence that is never offered to Black men in America. You are watching white supremacy live on the Senate Floor,” Sarsour said even before Collins finished her speech.
Kat Calvin, the founder of anti-voter ID group “Spread the Vote” that claims to be non-partisan, urges people to publicly harass Collins over her voting decision.
“Never let Collins have a moment of peace in public again,” she wrote.

Rush Limbaugh said yesterday that he was privy to information on the the severity of the abhorrent and “uncivilized” pressure of threats and violence made against all Senate Republicans, not just Flake, Collins, & Murkowski. He said it goes beyond what’s posted on social media.

Seriously, people need to start getting locked up. NOT locking them up is emboldening them. There is an old law concerning interfering with a congressperson while in session.

It’s intimidation. I would think it’s a crime to intimidate a Senator in order to influence their vote.
The way I read Collins is that the more that people bully her, the more she sets her jaw and stands firm. I’d like to see a used car salesman pitch a car to her. Push her and it’ll just make her angry.
Yeah, well...I guess she just keep on saying that when she watches Tim Scott, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz all vote "aye."
They are real, and they are moving to even more attacks.
Collins is by most measures, a liberal. She has chosen to destroy her main power base. I keep going back to “What made her do it?”
Her life is in danger, and her career more so.
So are there laws against planning public harassment of people? I think it’s called a restraining order.
Let’s suppose some black men get railroaded. Will railroading Kavanaugh somehow stop that? They’re advocating reverse affirmative action. Some black men got lynched forty or fifty years ago, so let’s string up some honkies.
Hopefully, some Trumpists will shadow her and come down on anyone who tries to harass her on the streets. Failing that, the Senate should pay for bodyguards to protect senators who have been credibly and specifically singled out for harassment. Use the hush money fund.
Wait until the Islamists in this country get ahold of the lesbians and homos. They’ll be crying to the Christians to protect them.
