One of the biggest problems is even the definition of abortion. Some people think that the birth control pill causes abortion (I don’t), so it should be illegal.

While I may get trashed for saying I’m fine with the pill, the point is the definition means different things to different groups.

When you get to specifics, polls change. Very, very few people support 3rd trimester abortions, for example. And rightly so. Banning the pill, however, would get much lower support. Republicans frequently get trashed as a group for (falsely, imo) wanting that.

Regardless, Roe v Wade was an awful decision. It should be up to each state, period.

It can cause a fertilized ovum to fail to implant in a very small number of cases (less than a percent). Technically that is an abortion. However, that argument seems unwinnable. Some of my fellow Pro Lifers make me cringe when they elevate this to a front-and-center issue while we are chopping up 700,000 babies or more in the womb each year.
