My father was a big advocate for sleeping with a loaded gun.
For a time as a young man he lived with his sister.
Her husband was an abusive drunk, and gotten physical with her more than once.
He showed the gun to his brother-in-law and said “This will be with me at all times, and if you ever come after my sister again, you sonofa b****, I’ll kill you.”
He did not hit her again, so long as my dad lived with them.
After that she got smart and divorced him.
My dad was this mild-mannered retired engineer who everyone said reminded them of Fred Rogers. But I absolutely believe that if this bloke would have come after his sister again, he would have shot him.

Yep - wife has her .30 in the bed-stand and my side has a 9mm and .357 in it....

Mrs Paul- I am sorry for your current situation, due to the Left in the USA.
However, WELCOME to the status many of us here in the country have been living with for many years. I left So Calif over 25 years ago,and I had a gun there. Needed it-—prowlers all hours of the night & day.
Lived rural in N Calif for 16 years. Had local (lived at the end of my road) known drug dealer COME ONTO MY PROPERTY 7 THREATEN ME...and pulled shotgun out from inside doorway to drive him off. WAS READY TO SHOOT TO KILL HIM.
Don’t have to live rural here in the USA to feel the need to protect yourself. The deputies can only be in so many places at any given time. IF I needed a deputy, I would be lucky to see one in less than 20 minutes. ALOT can happen to me in 20 minutes.
WHY do any of US think that the Dems want to get our guns & ammo before they can gear up into even more attacks on us???
