My wife actually did her family tree on her Moms side in high school and through birth records and other documents she found she is actually 5/16th Cherokee. She looks like Casper the female ghost she is so white.
Her great-great-great grandpa married a Cherokee woman in the 1870’s-80’s. His father was from Denmark and had settled in Minnesota. What’s ironic is this great-great-great grandpa’s brother got massacred at Little Bighorn with the 7th by of course Indians. What’s also funny is her step-Mom which actually raised her looks like a full blown Indian princess and her Dad was half Cherokee.
