Pritzker Vows to Fight Discrimination Lawsuit
The Chicago Sun-Times ^ | October 19, 2018 | Tina Sfondeles

The plaintiffs — all field organizers — allege that while the campaign has hired African-American and Latino workers, “the vast majority are herded into race-specific positions where they are expected to interact with the public, offered no meaningful chance for advancement, and receive less favorable treatment than their white counterparts who engage with, as the campaign sees it, a more desirable constituency.”

“At all times relevant, the J.B. Prtizker for Governor campaign has been cesspool of racial discrimination and harassment,” according to the suit.

The campaign also released information designed to poke holes in some of the allegations.

Back when I was in college you had to be pretty high up in the campaign to get paid at all.

Pritzker is spending 12.2 million on salaries, including health insurance.

Pritzker is right to assign black campaign workers to canvass black neighborhoods and hispanic campaign workers to canvass hispanic neighborhoods. Do the plaintiffs deny that the strategy works?

Now, we never asked people for donations - just their votes.
I’m not quite seeing how this part works:

[the campaign] offered no meaningful chance for advancement, and receive less favorable treatment than their white counterparts who engage with, as the campaign sees it, a more desirable constituency.

Hmm....maybe white people courteously say “no thank you” while black ones say “Bug off! None of your business!”

In general, there is little opportunity for advancement during the campaign. I think only the very top people in the campaign might get offered jobs in Illinois state government should Pritzker win.

Otherwise the best you can do is impress them for the next campaign.

I hate the idea of this fat Democrat POS becoming governor just slightly more than I like the idea of Bruce Rauner the “Republican” who was going to change Illinois being re-elected.
