This is a shocking development concerning a highly charged issue which will surely jolt the public.

A murderer is worried about being put to sleep?
Well then he can be fried! Bye.

According to press reports, Zagorsky “lured the two men into a wooded area in Robertson County under the pretense of a drug deal. Once there, petitioner shot both men and slit their throats . . . . “
So if he doesn’t want the electric chair, perhaps he’d be OK with having his throat slit like he did to his victims.

I think a firing squad is the way to go a la Gary Gilmore. I would pick that for myself over the electric chair or lethal injection any day. Bang and it’s over.

I can’t see where getting fried by high current and voltage is less humane than being put to sleep and dying peacefully in your sleep.
If the anti-death penalty zealots are arguing that lethal injection is not humane, then how can they NOT argue electrocution is not humane?
Frankly, who cares? Hanging, bullets, electrocution, drugs - they all do the job quickly and that’s all that matters.

Again, I’m pretty sure that it’s not just me, but lots of you FReepers have undergone surgery with general anesthesia? They could have kilt me at any time and I simply wouldn’t have woken up. Never would have had a clue. .308 would work just fine for a lethal injection cranial placement.

The environmentalist in me, abhors both the lethal injection and electric chair.
Lethal injections introduce toxins into the environment, and prevents the corpse from being recycled.
Electric chair uses electricity powered by coal fired plants. Again here the corpse cannot be recycled.
The green alternative to this is death by hanging. The rope can be sourced from plant based material. The rope is not toxic, and reusable. The rope is biodegradable. The corpse is not destroyed, and organs can be harvested from it.

But the choice is one she [his lawyer] had hoped Zagorski would not have to make.
In other words, they were not trying to get him a more "humane" way to be put to death, she was trying to get him off of death row! AFTER HE KILLED TWO PEOPLE!
I swear, sometimes I think that the damn lawyers of these murdering POS' should be put to death with them! Who is lower? The dirt bags killing innocent victims or the dirtier dirt bags who protect the murdering dirt bags which allows the murdering dirt bags to continue to murder?!? UGH!!!

Some years ago, I recall reading an interview with the curator of a law enforcement museum in New Jersey which hosted, among other artifacts, the electric chair used on the Lindberg baby kidnapper/murderer.
This was just when lethal injection was comming into vogue. He wasn't happy with the new trend because (to paraphrase) 'getting zapped in the chair is very unpleasant, as it should be. But what's another needle in the arm to a sick murdering junkie! It sounds too clinical!'

Like that fat POS, Charles Campbell, we had here in Washington state. Ate tons of candy and other stuff until he claimed he was too heavy to be hanged. His attorney argued that at his weight it would pull his head off. His appeal was denied and then they had to physically drag his ass to the noose and use other physical means to put the noose over his head and the hood.

Why the prolonged procedure of both electric chair or lethal injection all the falderal fuss that goes with both. Give the prisoner a choice; rope or bullet. Thus saving the state money and the without the ghoulish gathering of witnesses.
