Publicity, transport, food: migrants flock to more caravans after Trump broadsides

TAPACHULA, Mexico (Reuters) - For years, an annual caravan of Central American migrants traveling through Mexico to the U.S. border received modest publicity until President Donald Trump condemned it in April, pitching the procession into the glare of the world’s media - and into the homes of thousands of potential migrants.

Though only a fraction of the 1,500 migrants made it to the United States, coverage of their trek in vehicles and on foot inspired many considering the journey to see caravans as a safer way to travel than the perilous trip many had for years undertaken alone, dozens of migrants told Reuters.

….Such destitution lies behind a caravan expected to leave San Salvador on Oct. 31, said one of its organizers, Alex, who declined to give his last name for fear of reprisals. At least 1,000 people have joined the caravan’s WhatsApp group, he said.

Alex said he and his co-organizers contacted members of the Honduran caravan, who told them to seize the moment.

so the new myth is that this caravan has been an annual occurrence. They're communicating by WantsApp and FB on cellphones, maybe we can do something about that?

(cnn reporter was talking about how destitute these folks were, and held up a cell phone to explain they're communicating by cell phone - then realized he just blew the whole destitute speech)

Reuters is trying to help the dems by starting a narrative that this caravan stuff is Trump’s fault.

They’re not in their home country. There must be network roaming charges for those phones.

2,100 mostly unarmed Guard troops on border as Trump vows to send more to stop migrant caravan

In April, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis authorized that as many as 4,000 troops could be sent to the border pending approval of participating state governors. The memo allowed for the cost of the deployment to be reimbursed through federal funds, but also limited the National Guard’s role, prohibiting guard forces from interacting with any of the migrants or taking on a law enforcement role.

It is an invasion force not a caravan! A second group is forming behind this one.

How about a flotilla waiting for the invaders? Once they get on this side of the water, arrest them and toss ‘em on a boat. Out they go!

Enough is enough. Shut down the border. Lock it up. 50% tariff of all money sent to Mexico and beyond. Deport every single illegal alien in America.

Excellent. Relatively large groups are easier to portray as the threat they are. Easier to locate, track, and stop. They also raise the question of organization and backing - people and groups we need to expose. More caravans!

#4: "… but also limited the National Guard’s role, prohibiting guard forces from interacting with any of the migrants or taking on a law enforcement role."

There you have it. All window dressing. Can you imagine Hungary, Greece, or Turkey restricting their troops in such a fashion? Our politicians have turned our troops into paper tigers. Even Barney Fife was issued one bullet.

Our troops on the border rake leaves, clean the bathrooms, get coffee for the border patrol agents—"Sir! Will that be a bear claw or a cheese danish today? Sir!"

I know you guys hate reuters and love AP, but, they both sometimes have good info below the headline. Just trust on why I picked the article.

The real message is; we don’t expect a heretofore passive America to object publically to us invading/taking and if they dare to object we are justified in whatever we do. For us everything, for them nothing - very ISIS-ish.

As for Trump’s fault - The uneducated in the caravan already think that it’s only Trump doesn’t want them here. The rest of us are supposed to be waiting with flowers and cash (they all want money). One allegedly told others that Trump was going to nuke them lol. Either they’re pretending we citizens don’t exist, or they don’t care. Like most low-iq spectrums, they want to take what they want and they don’t care who owns it. Mob rules.

Don’t know for sure, but I suspect that third world cell phone charges are much less than here.

“For years, an annual caravan of Central American migrants travelling through Mexico to the U.S. border received modest publicity until President Donald Trump condemned it in April”

Sounds like the annual sight of majestic herds of Wildebeest crossing the plains of Central Africa. Oh I remember Attenborough did I series on it “The modest caravans of Central American”. What a crock of Shiite!

This narrative where these penniless people are walking thousands of miles without food, water shelter or transportation is BS. Mexico is a poor country and few if any of the villages or small cities along the way have the resources to provide food and water let alone sanitation. If the caravan was not organized and provided with food, water, sanitation and transportation these caravaners wouldnt stand a chance. Money was also needed to bribe Mexican officials and the narco cartels to allow safe passage. This is a multi million dollar operation with outside funding.
