Heard an interesting suggestion on the Tom Sullivan show today. A caller suggested that Trump declare martial law on the border thereby bypassing civil authority/activist judges and turn away these illegal invasions and let the two faced Mexicans deal with them long term. More foreign aid will simply be siphoned off by government elites and never reach the poor.
I was thinking an Executive Order temporarily closing the southern border to all but those with valid visas and Americans having business on the other side. Maybe a 90 day closing. During that time pass a law making null and void catch and release. If we don’t have an immediate court date, send them back until we do. Mexico will have to step up to the plate then and take care of asylum seekers until they can appear before the judge. It will be challenged in court but since it is temporary it should held as being in the prerogative of the Presidents authority.
