At this point in the 2016 election, early Democratic ballots led early GOP ballots by 45 percent to 38 percent. This cycle, the Republican percentage has increased by 7 while the Democratic percentage has dropped by 5.

but the bad news is that this will panic Mueller and he will undoubtedly drop the dirtiest of tricks next Friday.
my guess is that that is why Trump is dangling but not explaining the tax cut. he will announce it next Friday night after the Mueller leak drop.
By next Friday, more than half the votes for this election will have been cast
So, you’re forecasting that Mueller will drop a bomb next Friday, not only the bomb, but the day he’ll do so.
And then you’re forecasting that Trump will announce his tax cut the same Friday, only later.
I’d say the odds of that all working out for you are at least one in a thousand, and probably considerably higher than that.
Mueller knows if the republicans hold the house and increase the senate, Trump is free to fire Sessions after the mid-terms and install someone willing to take on the Deep State, including Mueller, if there is an unfair October surprise. Mueller has to wait until after the mid-terms to do anything, or he would be risking the wrath of Trump after receiving post-election affirmation of the Trump agenda and supporters.
