America is not, never was, a charitable institution. Now that we have voted ourselves freebies, like Medicare and Disability and Workman's Comp, etc. etc., our nation is completely balkanized.

In my opinion, the best helping hand America has to offer is to help our neighbors in this hemisphere to develop their own nations as productively as possible. There are an amazing amount of natural resources in this hemisphere, and lots of opportunities for nations to grow and prosper.
As did mine.
When discussing illegal aliens with a liberal, the discussion usually gets around to me being accused of being a racist. I then counter with “I believe that immigrants should come here legally, like my grandparents.” The topic usually changes about then.
Neither medicare or workman's comp are freebies.
Both are insurances paid for by the people who use them.
