More likely none of the local places were willing to pay as much as Applebees for product placement.

I hate ESPN too but I’m glad Anthony Bourdain or other travelling connoisseurs didn’t just travel around and eat at McDonalds in every town. Yeh I know, its all about $$$, but I recall the day when they actually made a point to highlight famous local restaurants or sites in each city. Applebee’s? Why is Applebee’s in Buffalo significant from Applebee’s in my town?

Maybe when they hit Philly, they can use Applebee’s again and sample a famous Applebee’s Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. Forget Pat’s and Geno’s.
