For a Convention of the States dedicated to Georgias application language, which would re-balance citizens rights versus federal power and state power, the count is 12 down, 22 to go.
For a Convention of the States dedicated to a balanced budget amendment only, the count is 30 down, 4 to go.
I’m ready. An Article V Convention, even if only for the balanced budget will send the right message and do the right thing. Then onward to repealing the 16th and 17th.
I’m glad the states are getting serious about this.
There will, however, be a snag when it comes to balancing the budget — nearly impossible for congress to survive a major and instantaneous hit on social security. It would be easier to whack federal pension plans. But I’ve seen no will to do that either.
We need to finesse the budget down, like I’ve been saying. A systematic counter-pressure.
I worked one out, but so far people are determined to be arbitrary. Easier on the brain I guess.
