Hugin Says Internal Polling Shows Slight Lead Over Menendez

Bob Hugin in the final days before Election Day said he will finish strong and victorious against Senator Bob Menendez and revealed that his internal polling shows he has a slight lead in the U.S. Senate race in New Jersey.

Democratic strategists in the state are now concerned Menendez could lose his seat. In a piece published by Politico on Saturday, Democrats said they have seen a remarkable decline in support for Menendez and are fearful he could lose as Hugin continues to spend millions of his own money in the days leading up to Nov. 6.

..snip..

Integrity NJ will be spending an additional $699,000 in support of Hugin. Their ads have been focused on Menendez's corruption charges.

A judge declared a mistrial after jurors were deadlocked on 18 corruption charges against Menendez brought by the U.S. Department of Justice.

The Senate Ethics Committee "severely admonished" Menendez this past April and ordered him to repay for the lavish gifts he accepted from Florida eye doctor Salomon Melgen, a donor to Menendez's campaign. Melgen was sentenced to 17 years for Medicare fraud.

This would be a sweet upset but the Dem corruption in NJ is almost as bad as Chicago.

A lot of dead people and bussed-in out-of-staters are likely to vote, and a lot of crooked judges will approve of that. Hugin will need to have a fairly good margin.

Although the Dems may hesitate to re-elect a dirty crook at this point in time.

Yes, the media will be proud of itself if it can get Menendez re-elected.
Probably raise it’s advertising rates. Results like that are very impressive.

Sorry Mr. Hugin you just aren’t corrupt and that disqualifies you from representing the majority of New Jersians who are far left drones. If Bob Menendez were to put out a campaign commercial promising to personally beat everyone to death with a hammer, the lefty drones of this state would still vote for him.

Hugin?!?! He was a GASP, Pharma Executive!!! The horror, the horror!!!

Just got back from a party in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Haven’t been in Jersey at all in the last year. There are Hugin signs all over. The only Menendez signs I see are ones that say, “Dump Corrupt Menendez”. Hopefully Hugin can pull it off.

I disagree. He was caught but he is a Democrat and that trumps all. They will not hesitate.

Have to go to the urban spots, Menendez signs are all over and no Hugin signs. His were out early and consistently, the Menendez ones look like the workers were given so many signs to put out in a day so they put 100 on two corners and went out to the bar early for the night.

If intensity alone could win it, Hugin would be in going away - over the weekend we received three mailers from his campaign, were invited to a meet and greet with him at the shore, and even ran into a couple of his ads playing before several YouTube selections I called up - and that doesn’t even count the numerous TV ads that are playing all over - should be interesting....

One good thing would supposedly come from a Hugin win: he would vote against Upchuck Schumer.

However, what we would get from Hugin on subsequent votes appears to be a real question mark.

Bob Hugin has run a monster campaign and tons of people have been on the ground fighting every step of the way.

Hope so. Some alarming polls showing an even race in MO and TN...they should be growing wider, not tightening at this point.

If we can get a NJ upset in the senate, that’s a 6 year upset!

We could really use a few of those.

Every single person in the entire state of NJ could vote for Hugin, and Menendez would still win.And if by some miracle Hugin did win,the State Supreme Court will just appoint Menendez as Senator, like they did with Frank Lautenberg

He would probably be another Kirk (former Illinois Sen) but that would be a big improvement over menendez
