Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday said that acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker should recuse himself from overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.
"Given his previous comments advocating defunding and imposing limitations on the Mueller investigation, Mr. Whitaker should recuse himself from its oversight for the duration of his time as acting attorney general," Schumer said in a statement on Wednesday.

Well, despite recusal calls, Whitaker is pretty much telling the Democrats to shove it, with his associates telling The Washington Post that he has no plans to do so:
Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker has no intention of recusing himself from overseeing the special counsel probe of Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to people close to him who added they do not believe he would approve any subpoena of President Trump as part of that investigation.

Repeatedly calling if a Russia Probe is a good way to prepare the public to endorse it being limited to just that by the new AG.
The left is terrified and should be. I think he has been acting AG for at least a few months now when the President had Rosenstein at the WH. This guy looks to be a wartime AG who may very well start indicting these vermin.
If Whitaker turns out to be a firebrand I wonder if there is any downside to him remaining as acting AG indefinitely.

Imagine if the new acting AG now releases all previously ‘blocked’ doc requests by the House (including the [RR] secondary CLAS scope doc).

Does Schumer forget the Mueller has 13 democrat donors on his staff?
Whitaker knows everything that has been going on with the DOJ. As Sessions’ chief of staff, there wasn’t much he could do about it. He’s probably outraged over the corruption and is going to prosecute the criminals and seditionists within the DOJ and FBI. Hope that smart ass Christopher Wray is one of them.
