I could be wrong..... but don’t think Mike Gundy was ever at OU. He was QB at OSU etc. His brother Cale was a QB at OU and is still on staff there.

Sounds like Craig James’ son.

Leach said James told every coach of every game he called on ESPN that his son really wanted to play for them.

“Indentured servitude? What is the value of a college degree these days?”

Perhaps a student athlete wants to transfer to a school where he can earn a degree that better serves his needs.

And he can do that. He loses 1 year of eligibility.

I think he was talking about a young generation that doesn’t want to work, doesn’t want to be criticized

The Coach's bio says he's switched schools 3 times. Does that make him a liberal snowflake? Rational people move to the most beneficial situation.

“Then you might as well declare college football as just another professional league.”

College football is already a professional league for everyone involved, except for the players.

Open that market to the players.

Moreover.... you can count the number of student athletes who transfer due to changing their major each year on one hand.

“And he can do that. He loses 1 year of eligibility.”

Why should that be the case?

Did Gundy loose a year of eligibility when he transferred from one coaching job to the next?

Mike Gundy played and coached at OSU.

Not to be confused with younger brother Cale, who played at and now coaches at OU.

Transfers have always been a part of college athletics. The “TARGETING” rule is killing college football graveyard dead.

“Moreover.... you can count the number of student athletes who transfer due to changing their major each year on one hand.”

Does it matter why a student athlete wants to transfer schools?

For a degree in General Studies, not much.

He wasn’t a student athlete at the time. However.... if the snowflake wants to he can always declare himself eligible for the draft and go make the big bucks...... until he is cut and gets his job supersizing your value meal.

I think the source of confusion about Gundy and Leach might be that brother Cale Gundy joined Bob Stoops’ coaching staff at the same time as Mike Leach, and was the RB coach for Leach’s brief tenure at OU.

The college football player in the major programs earn money for their schools, and everyone else involved is making money.

The players should be paid, and free to transfer for a better opportunity.
