Dr. Mustafa Yousef Alddawi probably really doesn’t know (like the usual Jew-hate posters on FR) that ‘Palestinian’ in WW1 meant ‘Jew’. If there was no additional word ‘Arab’, Palestinian meant ‘Jew’, as in the ‘Palestine Post’ that became the ‘Jerusalem Post’.

What a bunch of dreamed up twaddle! Apparently there is an Arabic gene for lying and for self-aggrandizement.

Well there is no doubt that the Sykes Picot-Treaty between England and France turned the Middle East on it’s head. But the so called Palestinians were an insignificant factor.

Something like half of all the Armenians alive at the time were killed by the Turks during WWI. That seems like a bigger deal than anything that happened to the Palestinian Arabs.

There will be a WWIII. It will dwarf all the others. And Israel will win it.

Sorry moslems, but you are losers and will forever be losers. Your only hope is to convert to Christianity.

In WWII didn’t Palestine, as well as other Arab countries, embrace the Nazi cause and supply troops to Hitler??

Dr. Mustafa Yousef Alddawi is essentially arguing that the breakup of the Ottoman Empire was the calamity of the “Palestinians”.

The idea has a number of flaws.

There was no state or even province of “Palestine” under the Ottomans. The entire area of the Levant (modern day Lebanon), Syria and the region of “Palestine” usually was under an administrative division with a headquaters in Syria and on maps as “Syria”.

“Nationalism” is what began to follow the demise of the Ottoman Empire, even in the intermim between WWI and WWII, leading to nationalist movements that would demand independence from British and French colonial rule after the end of WWII.

But “nationalism” such as a “State of Palestine” was NOT one of those movements. Even the “Palestinian” movement did not speak of seeking a “Palestinian State” until after Arafat lost the ability to operate from the west bank (which was held by Jordan) in what could have been considered a “civil war” between the “Palestinian” movement and the King of Jordan.

Many of the “nationalist” movements, such as the one in Egypt and Syria in particular, claimed at some times to be “Pan Arab Nationalist” movements seeking a political unity of most of the Arab states. Arafat was also one who held such ambitions, but all of them were short lived, as the natural self-interests of Egypt and Syria in particular rose above any “pan-Arab” interest. It seems very clear to me that if any war against the Jews had succeeded with Syria and Egypt in the lead, a Palestinian state would not have ben a result. It would have been part of the spoils divided between Syria, Egypt and Jordan.

Spinning myths seems to be second nature to the Arabs who were given little in this world until the discovery of oil, and even then self-interest, not “pan Arab” interest still prevailed.

The pre-war Ottoman empire was selling land to Jews long before the war began. The Jews had money and wanted land, the OE had land and wanted money... The Jews bought land no one wanted and did what Jews do there, they made the desert flower. The founding of Tel Aviv, photo 1908-09. Ottoman rule. Note the palestinian buildings.

A century later, look at the mess the Zionists created.

Yes, those evil Zionists build modern cities with first world infrastructure and amenities while the Fakestinians grovel before their heathen “god” in clay brick huts.

If the Israelis turned Tel Aviv over to the palis in a year it would make Detroit look like a garden spot.

But all cultures are equal don’tcha know.

There is no Palestinian Language
No distinct Palestinian Culture
No ethnic Palestinian group
No Palestinian History prior to 1973
No famous historical Palestinian Statesman

Can we finally admit that there are no Palestinians and call them Arabs?

Alddawi is wrong, but whoever wrote the article needs logic lessons.

Obviously Alddawi is claiming that the division of the Arab world by the victors of the war, which included allowing Jews to return to a sliver of land where they are the indigenous people, is the most catastrophic thing to ever happen to anyone ever.

Someone would have to be very stupid or very angry or very dishonest to conclude that from what he said.
