I would have hit it, but not after he’s been there!

An older guy throwing money around, bragging about all the powerful people that he hangs out with, and a young girl mistaking his arrogance for confidence. It’s was all a disaster waiting to happen.

You’d think that a lawyer would have the presence of mind to not blurt out, “She hit me first!!!” At a scene where the cops were called, it’s never good to be seen by them ranting and screaming. None of the media says so but I’d money that he was drunk and/or high.

I would also bet that he has a substance abuse problem, had been functioning with it, but losing control of it more and more in the last few years. His reneging on agreements in bankruptcy court resulting in a $10 million judgement against him really fit that pattern. The judge is clearly fed up with him, as is everybody else. You would think that a lawyer would be able to take care of his business. A young hotshot lawyer that has won at least half a billion dollars (he claims a billion) is in bankruptcy court, has a $5 million tax lien against him, and just got a $10 million judgement against him. The cherry on top is him landing in jail for beating the holy crap out of his girlfriend and being utterly unable to shut up when the cops show up. That whole situation just screams NOSE CANDY.

An “aspiring actress”, just read that as “unemployed”. She’s a trophy girlfriend who’s trying to move up to trophy wife, she sure as hell isn’t going to make it working for a living. Getting with Avenatti proves that her judgement is terrible.

aha... that... actually makes a lot of sense...

i wonder if said alleged nose candy played any part in attracting the empty minded young plaything to the CPL in the first place... that plus his uber-liberal politics and high profile. this type of flash is what young millennial playthings find attractive nowadays? to the point of allegedly moving in with said CPL? if so, yikes, glad i am out of the market for the need to compete with such folks as CPL. but the social support network seemingly implied by all of this in millennial-land continues to give me pause...

Sorry to say, it’s not just millenials. In the 1980s, there was no shortage of young professionals snorting coke. I think so many lawyers get hooked into it because early in their careers, they work ridiculous hours. Dead serious, 100-hour work-weeks are not unusual for a guy in his first job who just passed the bar (or clerking until he passes the bar), it’s like a weird hazing rite-of-passage thing. There’s no shortage of lawyers at the journeyman level that work 60-70 hours/week. Coffee will only do so much for you. The problem with drugs like coke is that it will give you a great boost of happiness and energy but it will absolutely destroy any good judgement you have.
