I live in Colorado and in my opinion, Hickenlooper was not that bad. Compared to what we have coming in January- a flaming leftist in Jared Polis - Hickenlooper was great. He is a business owner and generally middle of the road which is the reason he will never get the Dem nomination. They are looking for a non-white, extreme leftist for 2020. The base will not accept anything less.
