American’t: From Midterms to End Times
American Thinker ^ | 11/19/2018 | Selwyn Duke

By Selwyn Duke

Truly great disasters come like a thief in the night. How many foresaw Rome’s sacking in 410 A.D., her collapse 66 years later, WWI or WWII? As for today, how many see that the United States is at what some call a tipping point, what others may call a Fourth Turning? Whatever you call it, the American republic is in its last days. This is too scary for many to contemplate, but there’s something far scarier: playing ostrich and not being prepared for things to come.

The so-called Left, ever violent since its French Revolution birth and as power hungry as ever, wholly controls the culture: the media, mainstream and social; academia; and entertainment. This means it controls long-term politics, since the latter is downstream of culture. So is big business, mind you, which is why the Left controls most of it as well; this, of course, translates into funding.

Trump’s 2016 victory will not MAGA; it was merely a stay of execution, a prolonging of the inevitable. This should have been obvious in a country that could elect Barack Obama and then, like the Titanic having backed up to hit the iceberg again, re-elect him. If it wasn’t, it should be obvious now that the Democrats have seized the House in a Watergate-level rout.

The notion that this was a standard result for a president’s first midterm is only comforting when viewing matters in relative terms; that is, the “‘political spectrum’ always has a right and left side no matter how far ‘left’ that spectrum moves.”

Lengthy and very interesting article. If you don't read the whole thing, just this excerpt isn't worth arguing over. If you do read the entire article, what say, is this guy right or wrong.

Importantly, if he's even half right, what can be done about it?

We are doomed unless we have a Christian moral base and voters following that world view. That is his point. unfortunately, we are here: “If there are no absolutes by which to judge society, then society is absolute.” Francis Schaeffer, How Shall We Then Live? (Old Tappan NJ: Fleming H Revell Company, 1976), p. 224. God has us in his sights, whether he takes action or not is up to us.

Sadly, he is right.
If we had elected Trump in 1988 instead of GHW Bush we might have had a chance to keep our country.
We are already at least 30 million people down the road to becoming North Mexico.
I was hoping strong enforcement could reverse it.

The bitter, long-term truth. Demography is destiny.

Certainly worrisome but defeatism will only hasten I’ll keep fighting and voting. We got rid of some major losers in the senate and house. Trump ain’t quitting. I won’t either.

I'll say what I said earlier today: There are a few fair points, a lot of glass half empty, and some good old-fashioned stupid in this article.

Mr Duke, as far as I can tell from his prior postings in Sept 2016, wasn't a fan of Trump (though he was pretty anti-Hillary). So, to me, he is suspect from the get-go. To be fair, his analysis of why Trump won was generally good. Alas, in the span of two years when lots of good things have happened (so many that Laz had to stop sending out updates), Selwyn appears to have taken the statists' bait and drunk copiously from the vat of Despair kool-aid and gone straight to surrender/guerrilla warfare. It is stunning...I wonder how this guy survived 8 years of Obama without moving into a bunker.

Yes...it was a crushing midterm election in the House. There are lots of bad signs from fraud, to losses that - prescinding from fraud - should have been wins. Antifa, the muscle wing of the DNC, camped out in front of Tucker Carlson's home. The Dems get to pick a Speaker and perhaps Ms Ocasio-Cortez may be help take back the three chambers of government.

And yet, we picked up a few Senate seats. There remains strong support for Trump - and its in-line with Obama at the 2 year point - and the #WalkAway movement, while it didn't crystallize into votes, remains vibrant. But this guy wants to pack it in, because we couldn't change a generation of cultural rot in 24 months? MAMA Mia!

On the time-series analysis of aging/dying convsevatives and fresh voting Millenials...Mr Duke seems to have forgotten that the rest of the nation aged as well. Thus, middle aged people who were mildly centrist in 2016 are more conservative in 2020. And they're probably pissed at what they see in the nation. Finally, for what it's worth, if Selwyn emerged from his safe room every now and then, he'd find that a YUGE number of Millenials aren't pod-eating snowflakes.

The core of Mr Duke's surrender is that there are lots of immigrants and 'other people' that he thinks can't be converted to liberty. I also think he doesn't want to get his hands dirty with actual work. Trump won by only 60,000 votes...we need to win over people...ya can't do that with a blog, Mr Duke and your tribal mindset guarantees us losing the nation.

The lucky thing for those of us who WANT a larger group of MAGA-loving citizens is that there ARE many people on the margins who are sick of being used and lied to. #WalkAway was one manifestation of it. The HARD WORK required to actually WIN THEIR HEARTS AND MINDS is the only obstacle. It wasn't enough for the Betamax to be superior to VHS...you have to get out from behind your keyboard and meet Acutal Other People.

I've said it many, many times. I get it: maybe some people chafe at the thought of engaging with minorities, immigrants, gays, Millenials etc. And yes, some men, you can't reach. But I would rather have the likes of Peter Thiel, Candace Owens, Diamonds & Silk, and Ben Carson at my barbecue than Paul Ryan, Willard, Jeb! and George Will. The former would more likely fight NOW while the latter would surrender now and hope we win on a Hail Mary pass.

We have been entrusted with a republic - if we can keep it. Yes, the Germans have bombed Pearl Harbor but we are still alive. We have two years to reverse course and keep this train moving. Or we can give up and blog like this jack wagon.

The entirety of the rule of man on Earth is past the tipping point.

The “kingdoms of men” will cease in 6 very short years, as Yehova pours out his 10 days of bowl judgements on a very deserving populice.

What did you expect?

Um, so what.

So the issue is faith in God and Christianity, the question is the same. What can be done about it?

Saying the problem is a loss of Christian morals begs the question, "Where the Hell have Christians been that immoral scum could take over?".

Whatever it is Christians in the US think they're doing, it hasn't worked and ain't working now. So, is the issue political or moral? Doesn't matter, it boils down the the same question.

We discussed this yesterday. The best comment was how we should enjoy watching this play out over the next 2 years. We could lose. Stolen house seats won’t come back without a big push on our part. Are we up for it? We’ll see.

To be honest, I had much the same thought upon Obama’s reelection. At the time, the best I thought we could possibly hope for even as an alternative would be a Bush-McCain-Romney-type . . . marginally better. Then all of the sudden we got Trump! So you never know what’s going to happen next, might as well keep fightin’!

So your approach is to admit we're all helpless and thank God for the Judgment, we deserve it.

Which pretty much explains how Christians lost the moral high ground in this country.

“Christians” trashed Yehova’s law in the 4th century, and have been working against him since.

First there’s the money issue. I’m reluctant to give to a party that has no fight in them. Democrats have plenty of fight AND money. Then there’s the stupidity. That ding-ding in the senate runoff (Miss) is not helping herself. Last there’s the need to vote for the rinos we can’t stand. Ayotte lost by 500 votes. Heller was not worth driving back to Nevada to vote for. 2 extra seats would have made a difference. Scott didn’t do his job fighting corruption in voting while Gov. Recount headaches I don’t need. Hopefully we’ll nominate senate candidate who DO have that fight in them.

Peaceful revolution, which is all - at the most - Trump ever intended (if that), rarely succeeds. The other kind often fail as well, particularly when the government commands a military and police complex as technologically advanced and massive as the government class will control here. And don’t think the military or the police will, in large part, fail to follow the orders of their fascist/communist paymasters...their mortgages and pensions depend on them following orders.

This is why I’ve long felt that if dissolution comes it will be difficult and most likely to look like resistance movements such as in France in WW2 - where the fight will be fought by an underground, hidden resistance.

"Trump’s 2016 victory will not MAGA; it was merely a stay of execution, a prolonging of the inevitable."

Oh...another concern trolling screed. Don't pay any attention to that.

Get the vote out in 2020! Can't make America great again in a day! Attention spans are required, and political action requires consistent, continuing effort. The lefties know that. Hopefully, many of the newbie conservatives who call others "neo-cons" will learn to grasp that...or at least stop trolling others who do.

Unfortunately the author nailed it, as this article is right on the money. As I have mentioned many times in the past to my friends, the only way for the public to change directions would be some form of social upheaval, causing people to realize what they stand to lose, or probably already have. A couple other options would be a wide spread destructive war or a natural disaster of biblical proportion causing the people who are left once again to work together. Even so president Trump being the great president that he is and as hard as he may try, he is no more than a stop on the road leading into the abyss of socialism which eventually will devour everything what slides into it. Without exceptions it has done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future.
