Over 80% of people (mostly kids) that have gender dysphoria and think they are transgender but get mental therapy do not transition. So there is help if they are pushed to seek it.

I was listening to a podcast about transgenders and the mass delusion at the moment. The therapists talked about other mass hysteria in history (most affecting teen girls - there is a 4500% (yes, 45 thousand percent!) increase in girls wanting to be boys in the last ten years.

One of them was King Charles the 7th or something. He had episodes where he believed his body was made of glass! He would have his servants pack him in stray and they would have to carry him everywhere very gently! A couple of famous guys wrote poems about it at the time. Soon numerous people also felt that their bodies were made of glass and going through these arduous activities.

Of course we look back on it now and think “how silly”. But with the transgenders today it is “Do you think they would go through with all of that if they didn’t really feel like they were trapped in the wrong body?”

I was reading an article where the counselor (pro-trans) was talking about his patient. He admitted that “it is a mixup between the brain and the body.” [Of course] “So then it becomes - which his easier to change?” [Which, seeing as he was affirming, it is easier to lop off some body parts than to get mental therapy. Ignoring the 80% success rate I guess.]

BTW - his patient killed himself in spite of all of the affirmation that his family, church, therapist, school and friends gave him. He had written about how he realized that his dream of being “the perfect girl” would never be realized.

So sad.

(My son quipped - heck - 99% of the girls come to that realization.)

I agree with your son. I lament that any man could think he could look better than even the ugliest woman. The thought is downright insulting.

With all the talk about how much pressure women feel to be beautiful, why would any man want to add that to his life??

Good post. It’s hard to change a brain that feels and thinks (say) femininely you’re a boy. Sometimes with special needs, you do change the environment to make the person feel safe.

I know this well because my son with special needs becomes pretty much a statue in an environment where he isn’t comfortable and a happy, contributing, helpful, funny person in an environment made for his kind. Maybe this is all they need, a special school for gender differences, where they don’t feel alone because everyone has it. Maybe that alone, no chopping off body parts, would be a wonderful way to grow up. Will we ever know? Dare we ever try something that disagrees with the Official Treatment everyone has signed off on? You know, the ONLY TREATMENT, the one that leaves half the patients still suicidal?
