Tom Price was given a chance. He turned out to have no clue. No Azar is almost as bad as Obama's Slavik.

He needs to be fired right now out of hand before he goes any deeper in the ditch.
Stupidest set of ideas I ever heard. What is this idiot?

Azar certainly sounds like a dummocrap. Bigger government, bigger government programs, certainly higher taxes to pay for all this, and the biggest question: how is the eligibility of the Medicaid recipients determined? I can very well imagine huge amounts of fraud undertaken to get on such a fabulous gravy train, including tons and tons of illegals, who are entitled to exactly NOTHING. Not a single thing, except a well-placed kick in the a@@ back to the hellhole which spawned them.
My suggestion is to get rid of this Azar guy and find someone with a genuine gold plated BRAIN.

Oh good. Medicare can go broke faster now.

This must be a joke. It sounds exactly like something Hillary wishes she had come up with when Bill was in the WH.
“But if we can only take control of ONE more aspect of your life, that’s the missing link to decreasing healthcare costs, I promise!”

Medicaid already has a waiver plan whereby an enrollee can move from a nursing home to assisted living. Under standard regulations assisted living is not considered a health care facility but it costs less than half what a nursing home costs, so it is worth it to move someone out when medically stable.

“”What if we gave organizations more flexibility so they could pay a beneficiary’s rent if they were in unstable housing, or make sure that a diabetic had access to, and could afford, nutritious food?” Azar said in his prepared remarks. “If that sounds like an exciting idea ... I want you to stay tuned to what CMMI is up to.””
I’m staying tuned so I can hear the sound of your a$$ hitting the ground just outside the Oval Office when The President drop-kicks you! Where does Trump dig up these turds?
To: spintreebob
I disagree.
Today Medicaid can only funds nursing home stays, the most expensive kind of housing for people who could take care of themselves in a non-institutional setting. Crazy and true.
If Medicaid could pay rent for private apartments for the same people, it would save billions of dollars and give them a better quality of life.
We pay to wherehouse people in this country when we could pay them to live independently. The most expensive solution isnt always the right one and health care delivery should be tailored to the individual not to a one-size fits all outcome.
Controlling health care costs would benefit everyone.
