How a future Trump Cabinet member gave a serial sex abuser the deal of a lifetime
Miami Herald ^ | NOV. 28, 2018 | JULIE K. BROWN

Posted on 11/28/2018 11:18:01 AM PST by Jack Black

On a muggy October morning in 2007, Miami’s top federal prosecutor, Alexander Acosta, had a breakfast appointment with a former colleague, Washington, D.C., attorney Jay Lefkowitz. It was an unusual meeting for the then-38-year-old prosecutor, a rising Republican star who had served in several White House posts before being named U.S. attorney in Miami by President George W. Bush.

Instead of meeting at the prosecutor’s Miami headquarters, the two men — both with professional roots in the prestigious Washington law firm of Kirkland & Ellis — convened at the Marriott in West Palm Beach, about 70 miles away. For Lefkowitz, 44, a U.S. special envoy to North Korea and corporate lawyer, the meeting was critical.

His client, Palm Beach multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein, 54, was accused of assembling a large, cult-like network of underage girls — with the help of young female recruiters — to coerce into having sex acts behind the walls of his opulent waterfront mansion as often as three times a day, the Town of Palm Beach police found.

This is one of the best summaries of the Epstein scandal that I've seen.

Yes, it is designed as a hit-job on a presumptive Trump cabinet nominee. Maybe he deserves it, though. Or maybe he doesn't.

The swamp is deep and it's creatures are powerful predators, and I think it's obvious they sport both Blue and Red team colors.

Isn’t this the guy that Clinton hung around with all the time and flew on his planes and visited his homes when these girls were around?

I wonder why the article doesn’t mention that?

Isn’t the Acosta guy the cabinet secretary that everyone says might as well be O’Bama’s labor secretary?

Anything to get “Trump” name in the headlines. This has nothing to do with Trump.

Other than the fact that Trump appointed him Secy of Labor. And his role in the Epstein matter has long been known. This dirtbag never should have been appointed.

Yeah, I agree. It would have been just as good a story without hanging it on Acosta. But that's what gave them a Trump connection, so they did.

But, it's still a real connection. That guy should not be getting new jobs in any administration.

This is a stunning article - at least, to me it is.

IF accurate, Acosta surely should be looked at for being a crap weasel, BUT I am old enough to know that he was not responsible for the terms of the deal; he was surely told what to do by higher ups - probably ones who have lots of dead people connected to them.

I hope this is the beginning of another look at how Bildo Clintoon raped underage girls on his friend’s private island on many occasions.

Really, y’all should read it.

> ....But on the morning of the breakfast meeting, a deal was struck — an extraordinary plea agreement that would conceal the full extent of Epstein’s crimes and the number of people involved.

Not only would Epstein serve just 13 months in the county jail, but the deal — called a non-prosecution agreement — essentially shut down an ongoing FBI probe into whether there were more victims and other powerful people who took part in Epstein’s sex crimes, according to a Miami Herald examination of thousands of emails, court documents and FBI records.

The pact required Epstein to plead guilty to two prostitution charges in state court. Epstein and four of his accomplices named in the agreement received immunity from all federal criminal charges. But even more unusual, the deal included wording that granted immunity to “any potential co-conspirators’’ who were also involved in Epstein’s crimes.

These accomplices or participants were not identified in the agreement, leaving it open to interpretation whether it possibly referred to other influential people who were having sex with underage girls at Epstein’s various homes or on his plane.” .... <

Isn’t this the guy that Clinton hung around with all the time and flew on his planes and visited his homes when these girls were around?

Yes, Clinton and many other rich people. Here is a primary source document from the case, Epstein's little black book with the names and phone numbers of many of the rich and famous people he knew:

I wonder why the article doesn’t mention that?

Well no charges were brought against anyone he associated with. You have a rich billionaire who liked to prey on young girls, and also collected rich-and-famous people as friends.

I think most serious newspaper editors would need something more to start connecting them and saying the people he knew were also sex abusers.

The article does say this about his legal team though, and names names there:

Acosta, in 2011, would explain that he was unduly pressured by Epstein’s heavy-hitting lawyers — Lefkowitz, Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz, Jack Goldberger, Roy Black, former U.S. Attorney Guy Lewis, Gerald Lefcourt, and Kenneth Starr, the former Whitewater special prosecutor who investigated Bill Clinton’s sexual liaisons with Monica Lewinsky.

Also, I don't believe that any of the girls who were doing the massage-for-money thing saw anyone other than Epstein. This is what he was prosecuted for:

The girls — mostly 13 to 16 — were lured to his pink waterfront mansion by Wild and other girls, who went to malls, house parties and other places where girls congregated, and told recruits that they could earn $200 to $300 to give a man — Epstein — a massage, according to an unredacted copy of the Palm Beach police investigation obtained by the Herald.

Now the story is that there were similar things going on at Epstein's private island, and that this is where he flew people, some of whom may have participated in the sexual abuse of some other underage girls. But he was never charged with anything at that location, as far as I am aware.

Hi.

What was the U.S. Attorney’s name who was killed last year? A Vince Foster type suicide.

He was investigating Wasserman Schultz and other crimes related to democrats in S. FL.

Found on Dania beach I believe.

Thanks.

possibly named Clinton and Menendez.

This is about Epstein. Many law enforcement people who investigated him go on the record, the paper got many records unlocked, the paper got victims to go on the record.

All the gory details on what he did are here.

And how he only got a slap-on-the-wrist for it.

The body of Beranton J. Whisenant Jr., 37, who worked for the US attorney’s office in Miami, was found lying on the beach by passersby early Wednesday and authorities are trying to how he died.

The video covers the "army of abusers", the people implicated and granted immunity who played various enabling roles in Epstein's crimes. It has several tabs. That last tab is titled "Epstein's Connections". This is from that tab:

Jeffrey Epstein had a little black book filled with the names and personal phone numbers of some of the world’s wealthiest and most influential people, from Bill Clinton and Donald Trump to actors, actresses, scientists and business tycoons.

A money manager for the super-rich, Epstein had two private jets, the largest single residence in Manhattan, an island in the Caribbean, a ranch in New Mexico and a waterfront estate in Florida.

But Epstein also had an obsession.

For years, Epstein lured an endless stream of teenage girls to his Palm Beach mansion, offering to pay them for massages. Instead, police say, for years he coerced middle and high school girls into engaging in sex acts with him and others.

Their are then pictures of "associates" that one can click on to learn about their connection with Epstein:

Donald Trump

Trump, the 45th president of the U.S., is Epstein’s neighbor in Palm Beach and former friend who also flew on Epstein’s plane. There has been no evidence that Trump engaged in underage sex activities.

Bill Clinton

Clinton, the 42nd president of the United States, was friends with Epstein and often flew on his plane and visited him on his island. Epstein donated to the Clinton Foundation and various Democratic causes and candidates. However, there has been no evidence that he was involved with underage sex activities.

Prince Andrew

Duke of York. Accused of having sex with one of Epstein’s retinue of girls and remained friends with Epstein until 2010. It was later revealed that Epstein loaned the prince’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, $24,000 to pay off some debts.

Leslie Wexner

Billionaire owner of Victoria's Secret and other retail stores. Epstein’s client.

Everyone else profiled was either involved in either the prosecution or defense, or a close personal friend /employee/enabler of Epstein. (They all got immunity.)

Clinton is mentioned just six sentences into the story:
“The eccentric hedge fund manager, whose friends included former President Bill Clinton, Donald Trump and Prince Andrew, was also suspected of trafficking minor girls, often from overseas, for sex parties at his other homes in Manhattan, New Mexico and the Caribbean, FBI and court records show.”

Well, of course I saw that.

Are you suggesting that Trump and prince Andrew went on these trips to the Carribean with the girls?

We know who did. And my question was why doesn’t the story mention Clinton being on these trips?

Instead, the story attempt to equate Clinton with trump and prince Andrew. What a joke
