Yup. Poor old Tyndall Air Force Base, my home on the Gulf Coast (I visit a few times a year; my base of operations on the Redneck Rivera). Right by Panama City, Florida with it’s own beautiful white sand beach and hardly anyone there.
Now the Air Force is saying they have no plans to repair and refurbish Tyndall. The F-22s and other squadrons will be permanently moved to other bases. Tyndall will go the way of Homestead AFB after Hurricane Andrew.
Truth is they dont need too many of these bases lots more happening in space these days
Yeah, we have a couple of available locations up here in Maine:
Brunswick Naval Air Station (closed) and Loring AFB, also closed.
We may have ice and snow up here, but no hurricanes to speak of.
