This is a tax on your total assets (wealth) that was passed in 2011 by the socialist government back then. (If you managed to work hard, save and accumulate some assets that was considered manna from heaven (a ‘fortunate’ event) that you needed to “share”)
Macron cut it back so that now it’s only based on your real estate assets.
Apparently the protesters don’t like the gas tax but are all in favor of soaking the “rich”.
Certainly not a fan of Macron, but the mob ain’t much better.
The incoming of a bunch of leftists didn't help.
