Trump actually did that very thing in June. MSM mostly ignored it but it worked to an extent.
Another way to focus attention would be for Trump to have the GOP re-introduce and quickly pass an updated version of H.R.3004 - "Kate's Law", and stick that to Schumer and the Senate Democrats alongside the debate over the CR. Make the Democrats defend the indefensible.
"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it." - Alinsky Rule #13
Is the Sinate going to close down their precious gummit over a measly 5 billion?
Cant pass the Senate, though.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yes it can.No Xmas recess if no pass?
Cue the music:
” I’ll be home by Christmas!”
Face like a sod plow.
Why do they elect such shriveled minds repeatedly?
I agree that this is the most clear and cogent argument I’ve heard yet - I’d love to hear DJT use it word for word.
But...having said that, I think it’s a bit unfair to say that nobody, even POTUS, tells it like it is.
Trump has been perfectly clear and direct all along - he singlehandedly raised up this issue when nobody else would or could. He had said a thousand times that we need a wall - he has insisted upon it every step of the way, despite overwhelming resistance from all corners - despite being mocked for it and called a racist, a xenophobe and much worse.
He has said a thousand times that without borders you don’t have a nation. How much clearer and more direct could one be?
I’ll admit that Trump tends to omit the part of the argument that goes to motive and conspiracy - the fact that the Democrats are purposely seeking to import foriegn votes to displace the votes of American citizens.
He likes to keep his messages short and simple - perhaps there is a good reason for that - perhaps the wonderfully articulate argument referred to above is aimed at a more educated audience and would be “preaching to the choir”. It sounds perfect to those of us who already understand what is going on - but there are so many low information voters out there who would make it only a few words into those paragraphs before succumbing to mental exhaustion - and those are the very voters Trump is trying to reach - not the ones who already voted for him (and surely will again).
My point isn’t to defend Trump’s choice of words. My point is that even if we would ask Trump to adjust his message, we owe him the deepest respect for what he has stood up for on our behalf, at great personal risk and sacrifice.
I do love the way this argument is presented, and I do hope POTUS reads it, and adopts it. Yet, I would hate for him to read the part about how nobody tells it like it is, even DJT! That is just not fair - not after all he’s done, single-handedly, to champion this cause.
And you are right: It would be much more difficult for him to talk of the base motives of the Dems. (a little too direct and honest). He might create even more personal enemies in Congress.
But if a couple of people close to him could pretty much make all the points made in this post, I think the results could be illuminating to many of the voters who are currently not quite seeing reality.
I guess we'll see.
There is little time to save this nation.
We need a hand from above. (jmo)
A great post indeed, thank you for the ping to it, a little elbow grease, and thank you for writing it, noiseman.
We elected and support Trump in large part because he speaks plainly, as most of of us try to do.
This was a cogent, well elucidated description of the issue and how many of us conservatives view it.
Thank you. I will reference it.
They want the ability, as in the past, to promise border security while seeking your vote, but to then walk away from enforcement efforts once the election is over.

This applies equally to Bush League Republicans.
They are even worse because they pretend to be on our side.

It was GREAT. The post ought to be it's own Vanity thread, and then seen by all voters and especially someone in the White House.
Post # 173 ought to be heard by every citizen of voting age in the country.

.... and the face of a liar/conman.
Im just so sick of hearing Republicans talking about my fine colleague across the aisle, or reflexively agreeing with the absurd statement that we are a nation of immigrants, while their fine colleagues are doing nothing less than trying to turn this country into a socialist/Marxist hellhole.
Of all of the words Ive written, what is most vital to get across to people is that the democrats are INTENTIONALLY trying to undermine our country. Theyre not just making mistakes once in a while (which is usually what they say when caught); they are consciously plotting to overwhelm the American citizenry with a tidal wave of people who share none of our values, traditions, language, or objectives. That is precisely why Obama ushered the illegal hordes into the country and then covertly and systematically dispersed them to every state, often without the knowledge of any of the local or state elected officials. Its a COORDINATED PLAN, intended to first dilute our electoral voice and then finally to overwhelm it.
Thank God we have Trump, but he has got to start calling this what it is, and he has to forget any notion of compromising with these traitors. Were essentially in a Cold War within our own country, except that only one side appears to know that its at war.
Ted Cruz is great at speechifying, but he cant command one one-thousandth the attention that Trump can. Also, this is about FAR more than just the current battle over the wall; the people of this country need to be told in no uncertain terms that one political party is now effectively at war with the American populace, and will gladly sacrifice citizens to the immigrant wolves in order to guarantee themselves permanent ruling status (and I do mean ruling).
Dem actions on border security and voter integrity make ZERO sense (pun intended) unless they are doing exactly what I assert above. From doing everything within their power to thwart any real border enforcement, to sanctuary city policies, to Obama actually soliciting illegal alien border crossers and secretly dispersing them to every state, to opposing any and every effort to ensure that only American citizens vote, dems cannot defend their actions. And the proof of their nefarious intent is that when opposed, they either offer no explanation for their position or present at best an absurd justification (ala its racist to expect minorities to show ID to vote).
Dems are extremely vulnerable on this issue, if only someone will just unapologetically and relentlessly hammer them with the truth and not let up until they have been pounded into dust.
As I said, I agree that it would be good if Trump added this to his message.
I just need to distance myself from any suggestion that Trump has failed to be clear and direct regarding the border issue. Anyone that can find fault with Trump on borders and walls is sick in the head.
If you want Trump to add something to his rhetoric, fine - make a suggestion, but do it with respect - don’t insult him in the process by saying essentially, “nobody says what needs to be said, not even DJT”.
That would be like telling General Patton to man up. LOL.
That would be like telling General Patton to man up. LOL."

Yes, yes. I understand completely. You are very correct ..... and funny (That would be like telling General Patton to man up.) .
just another corrupt politician,dc is full of them....
and his wife is CFR so give me DJT any ol' day
What I don’t understand is that if what you say about Obama is true, then why did he remove a much higher number of illegals than other recent presidents.
Trump is in a bind. He has promised his low information voters a wall. While there are areas where that is useful, it does not affect the problem that at border crossings only one in five cars is searched, or that significant amounts of drugs and possibly people are entering the US through tunnels. The Wall won’t fix those problems. If he has not already done so then he needs to educate himself and his voters about the complexity of the problem. Yes, short answers are easy, but this issue is beyond the easy fix.
