Trump is claiming it bc he will not cave to Schumer’s extremism. Simple and clear.
He also claims he'll own the shutdown. That's all the media will play.

Schumer and Pelosi have demanded that I break my Oath and promise to the American people and to God. I cannot. That is a line in the sand to me. I swore to protect the citizens of the United States and to uphold the laws of this nation.
If fulfilling my vows means I am to blame for shutting down the government then so be it. They are ignoring their oath of office, lawbreakers, and don’t seem to care about protecting the American people. We need to stop the illegals coming into this country (10’s of thousands each month), we also - like Ellis Island - need to have them come in legally, at proper points of entry, and in an orderly, controlled, manner.
IF we do not obey and enforce the laws that have been put in place this will create chaos, hatred, danger, and division in our country.
Bravo...Trump...now demand another five billion bucks from Schumer, Pelosi & the “Scum & Vermin, American hating Democrats. Keep this government shutdown going and those 800,000 Furloughed Government worker going payless through the entire holiday season...until Schumer & Pelosi give you 11.7 Billion dollars to build the Border wall, etc.

A mere 1,000 dead illegals shot while crossing the border would effectively end the process for a long time. If a few women were incleded in the 1,000 total, the illegal crossing of women would effectively end

I know. I know. But it is still amusing to watch all these politicians play these games. Trump and Cruz are using dem style tactics back on them. Kind of different. At least they are not cowering in fear like previous Republicans.
I used to shoot prairie dogs in S. Dakota with a $5 varmit permit. I would be willing to take out drug running mules walking across the border with their back packs. My gun is sighted in and I am retired so I have the time. I will even pay the $5 varmit permit.
