I have read and enjoyed two of Max Boot's books. But his case of Trump Derangement Syndrome is freaking embarrassing.

I had a chat last night with a friend who opposes the Syrian withdrawal decision--but only on the grounds that we have not done enough damage to ISIS in his opinion. I, for one, have never liked our deployment to Syria. My only concern is that our local allies don't get slaughtered.

Are these clowns actually trying to tell me that the Assad Regime, the Iranians, and the Russians can't handle ISIS in Syria now?

Let's get down to the fundamentals.

This is far from being just about ISIS. Now, the question is whether stopping the latter is worth a U.S. presence on the ground in Syria. I say No. Let the Saudis and Israelis stop it.

I am only in favor of ground troops if said troops can deploy artillery. Once artillery is not needed or cannot be reasonably employed, then we need to pull out.

The concern is that Syria and Russia will handle them with gas. We are their to “referee” the disparate players...bahhh let them kill each other. Besides we’re still in Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, ect.
